The name of the blog site is ISI Ministry. The ISI stands for Iron Sharpening Iron which is from a verse of scripture in Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” This verse implies that a deeper understanding of the Word of God can be the result of our study of the Bible if the study is done with other believers. We receive a blessing in the preparation of these devotions and it is our prayer that you, too, will be blessed.

DAILY WALK AS A CHILD OF GOD Part 1
8 1 12 YOUR DAILY WALK AS A CHILD OF GOD
Don’t forget to pray. Ask God for insight and an understanding of his Word. This insight or enlightenment is a work of grace and a ministry of the Holy Spirit. Pray you will have eyes to see and ears to hear the marvelous ways that God is showing his love to all his creation but especially to his family of believers.
Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Note: What Your Daily Walk as a Child of God Must Be Part 1
The relationship we have with Jesus Christ should be clearly visible to others by the way in which we live. When God called us into a relationship, he gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower us and revealed to us the way in which we are to live. Our life becomes a living sacrifice before others. Our life is an ongoing testimony to God’s faithfulness and God’s ability to mature us in the faith. It is because of the work of the Holy Spirit and our willingness to submit to his leading that the Christian qualities of our new life are seen; qualities of reliability, obedience, and faithfulness. These qualities are what God desires to see in his children for they will result in a willingness to follow him and do exactly what he says. He knows that if his children will live lives in obedience and faithfulness it will be good for them and they will live fulfilling and fruitful lives. As a child of God we must walk the walk, and talk the talk as we are led by the Holy Spirit. This brings great honor and praise to our heavenly Father.
So what should the daily walk of a child of God be like?
There are three things that are essential in the life of a believer: (1) the right kind of belief in Jesus Christ; (2) you are to let the Word of God dwell in you; (3) and you must pray daily for others. Without an understanding of the importance of these three things it will be very difficult for you to be the visible witness of God to those who live around you.
Over the next several days we will be looking at these three essential topics individually.
1. The Right Kind of Belief in Jesus Christ
What do I mean by this? I mean you must make sure as a child of God that the belief you have in Christ is the right kind of belief.
In the book of Romans, Romans 10:9-10 we read the following: “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
To believe is an action of faith, not faith as the world would know it, but as the Bible would describe it. It’s described in the Bible as “saving faith” and it is always connected to Jesus Christ.
As a child of God you must make sure that your faith is not a worldly, but true saving faith in Christ.
A few examples of what saving faith is not:
• Saving faith is not just head knowledge or some type of intellectual conviction or understanding.
• Saving faith is not just believing the fact that Jesus Christ lived and is the proclaimed as the Savior of the world.
• Saving faith is not just believing the words and promises of Jesus Christ are true in the same way that an individual would believe that the words of George Washington our true.
The things I listed above are things that even Satan himself would believe. But we know that Satan is not saved.
Saving faith is believing in the person of Jesus Christ, not just believing facts about him. Saving faith is faith that believes that Jesus the One and Only Savior and Lord of life. Saving faith comes from the heart not the mind. Saving faith is confessing with the mouth that which comes from the heart. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior it means you are giving your whole life to Him; you turn your life over to him totally and completely. You want to live for Christ!
Saving faith is about commitment. It’s about your willingness to commit your total life, your total being, all that you are, and all that you want to be to Christ. You give Christ your past, your present and your future. You willingly place yourself upon the altar of God asking him to save you.
Saving faith has noticeable results. Change will come. We will talk more about this tomorrow.
Did the Lord speak to you today? Why not write it down and claim it for His Glory.
Prayer: What do you need to pray to the Lord today? Listen to your heart. He loves you!
