11 7 12 Our Journey in Faith Continues
The election is over and for many the disappointment is difficult to deal with. We are stunned by the outcome, our candidate lost. We find it hard to believe so many people would rather our nation continue down a road we feel will lead to financial ruin rather than make the difficult choices that need to be made to restore it to financial health. We have seen the results of four years of an administration that seems committed to the destruction of our Nations freedoms and we have seen its blatant disregard in its attempt to cast off all Constitutional restraints. We are angry and want to do something in retaliation to those who have put our nation in such a hopeless dilemma; at least this is the view from our perspective. So what do we do? We go to the Word of God and when we do we find the following passage of Scripture:
1 Timothy 2:1-8 (MSG) 1 The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. 2 Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. 3 This is the way our Savior God wants us to live. 4 He wants not only us but everyone saved…everyone to get to know the truth we've learned: 5 that there's one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, 6 who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. 7 This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.
8 Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray—not shaking angry fists at enemies but raising holy hands to God.

Beloved, God has not changed. He is still on the throne; he is still our King. Don’t forget our citizenship is in Heaven and the time we spend on earth is spent as pilgrims passing through on our way Home. The rulers of all earthly kingdoms will one day stand before the King of Kings and be judged for how they ruled while here on the earth, so leave all judgment to God. Not only should we continue striving to be godly in our way of life now, we should be godly in how faithful we are to the authority God has allowed to be over us. The text is very clear, we are to pray for them and quietly go about our primary business of spreading the gospel message so that all have an opportunity to be saved. We are to pray and not become angry. We are to lift up holy hands to God in prayer, not angry fist at those who disagree with us.
Loving you in my prayers and in my thoughts as we continue to faithfully serve our Lord together. God is so good to have blessed me by bringing each of you into my life. My life is greatly enriched because of the fellowship we enjoy. David
KEEP LOOKING UP!!!
